Replace Missing Teeth With a Dental Bridge in Nassau County To Prevent Serious Dental Problems.

Dental Bridge in Nassau County For Missing Teeth

bridge2bridge1Each one of your teeth relies on the other for support, structure, and balance. When one tooth is lost, treatment must ensue as soon as possible to restore harmony and balance to your bite. If a gap within your mouth is left untreated, surrounding teeth can push inward, shifting and loosening surrounding teeth. This can eventually result in serious problems, such as TMJ and jawbone deterioration. At Nosov Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer dental bridges to replace your missing teeth and to prevent further problems that result from tooth loss.

What is a dental bridge?

A dental bridge is a device used to replace missing teeth by attaching artificial teeth with adjoining natural teeth.  Missing teeth not only affect the surrounding teeth and jaw, they also have an impact on daily habits, including speaking and eating. Missing teeth can cause:

  • Surrounding teeth to shift or collapse inward
  • Speech disorders
  • Older appearance
  • Loss of density within the jaw
  • Tooth decay

Dental bridges can help revitalize facial structure and support adjoining teeth to prevent these problems, restoring functionality and appearance.

What can I expect when receiving my dental bridge?

The application of your dental bridge takes two to three appointments. During your first visit, Dr. Nosov will remove enamel from either side of teeth surrounding the gap of the missing tooth, preparing the area for your new dental bridge. Impressions of the teeth are then taken and sent back to the lab where for construction of your bridge. Once your new dental bridge is cemented into the treatment site, dental crowns are positioned onto the surrounding natural teeth to provide support to the dental bridge.

At Nosov Cosmetic Dentistry, we provide different dental bridges for varying situations. After thorough assessment of your teeth, Dr. Nosov will help determine which dental bridge is right for you.

Types of dental bridges:
Traditional bridge-The most common type of dental bridge, this option uses two crowns to attach a false tooth to adjacent teeth.
Resin bonded bridge-This type of bridge is common for missing teeth in the font of the mouth. A resin bonded bridge fuses together false teeth to metal bands that are bonded to the back of teeth with resin cement.
Cantilever bridge- The Cantilever Bridge is used when there are natural teeth on only one side of the missing tooth.
Temporary bridge-These bridges are removable for easy cleaning.
Fixed bridge-The fixed bridge is permanently attached bridge that provides more stability to the jaw.
